Sayyiduna Ali al-Akbar ibn al-Husayn رضي الله عنه is remembered for a distinction beloved to the whole Ummah: of all people, he most closely resembled the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in bearing, character, and speech.
The One Who Resembled the Prophet ﷺ
The classical sources record that when the family looked upon Sayyiduna Ali al-Akbar رضي الله عنه, they were reminded of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself. He was the eldest son of Sayyiduna al-Husayn ibn Ali رضي الله عنه, raised in the household of prophetic light, carrying its manners, its knowledge, and its faith.
Honour at Karbala
Sayyiduna Ali al-Akbar رضي الله عنه stood with his father in loyalty and faith at Karbala, and he left this world there on the 10th of Muharram 61 AH. The Ummah honours him as a young man of the Prophet’s ﷺ own likeness who held to principle to the very end.
